Buxus Microphylla Compacta (Kingsville boxwood) is an extremely slow growing, yet hardy plant. It's perfect for bonsai because of:

its proportionally small leaves;
the striking contrast between its lush green foliage and its pale rough bark;
its ability to bud back;
its tolerance to dramatic styling which can include jin and shari.

Another feature of this tree is the high success rate of propagating new plants from cuttings – giving you a forest of trees for the future.
